United Nations
The United Nations has many organizations devoted to humanitarian
aid and assistance. GOAL works in partnership with, and is supported
by the following UN bodies:
UNICEF
- United Nations Children's fund
UNHCR - United Nations High Commission for Refugees
WFP - World Food Program
USAID
The United States Agency for International Development is the US
federal government agency that implements America's foreign economic
and humanitarian assistance programs. USAID supports GOAL's emergency
humanitarian work.
ECHO
European Community Humanitarian Office is not an "operational"
organization as such, but provides assistance through its partners
- NGOs, UN agencies, etc. GOAL is such a partner of the European
Community Humanitarian Office.
Irish
Department of Foreign Affairs
The Irish Government recognizes global interdependence and the
need for global responsibility. The Department of Foreign Affairs
supplies GOAL with funds for its development and humanitarian work
British Department
for International Development
The DfID is the British government's department responsible for
promoting development and the reduction of poverty. DfID supports
the development work of GOAL.
