GOAL USA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

• Mats Wilander, Director & President
Ranked number 2 (after John McEnroe) in Seniors Tennis, Mats has won 33 professional tennis titles - including a US Open victory in 1988, French Open victories in 1982, 1985 and 1988, and an Australian Open victory in 1988. He won the Davis Cup 3 times (in 1985, 1986 and 1987) and the Wimbledon Doubles in 1986. Mats has been a supporter of GOAL since 1983 and has visited GOAL's street children's project in Calcutta, IndiaMats is married with 4 children and resides in Sun Valley, Idaho.

John O'Shea, Director
John O'Shea, founder and Director of GOAL and a Director of GOAL USA, works full-time for GOAL on an international level. John established GOAL in 1977 to provide resources to the poorest of poor in the developing world. John was formerly a sports journalist and through the years has been instrumental in recruiting many of GOAL's sports patrons to advance the mission of GOAL. John, who resides in Dublin, is married with 4 children.

Conor O'Driscoll, Chairman
Conor has been on the board of GOAL USA for the past several years and is actively involved in its fundraising events and recruitment of other board members. He holds BA and MBA degrees from University College in Dublin. Conor is married with 4 children and resides in Rye, New York.

Joseph A. Rinaldi, Director
Joe has been a supporter of GOAL USA for many years, and his company, Stratum Group, also donated office space to GOAL USA. Joe holds a B.S.B.A. degree from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Pace University. He has one son and lives in Manhattan.

Aidan McNulty, Director
Aidan McNulty is a founding Principal of the international risk measurement firm, RiskMetrics. Prior to RiskMetrics, Aidan held several senior positions in international finance in Ireland, Bahrain, Germany and the U.S. In addition to his business achievements, Aidan, captain of the Red Gate golf team in Maryland, played professional rugby in Edmonton, Canada. Aidan holds a BBS and MA from Trinity College Dublin and has been published in Institutional Finance and Risk Magazine

Davis Fleming, Director
Davis has supported GOAL for more than 10 years, joining the board in 2000. Davis is Chairman of Samscreen Group of companies, which manufacture and distribute parts for mining equipment worldwide, as well as engage in some commodity trading businesses. Davis has undergraduate and Master's Degrees from Trinity College in Dublin. He is an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoys golf, tennis and swimming in his spare time.

Stephen Murphy, Secretary
Stephen graduated from Regional Technical College in Waterford, Ireland. He has been involved with GOAL USA for the past 5 years and actively assists with fund-raising events. He resides in Sunnyside, New York.

• Fiona Gibbons, Treasurer
Fiona joined the Board in early 2006 having previously been actively involved in fundraising activities for GOAL. Her career has been spent in the financial services industry. Fiona holds a BBS from Dublin City University and is a Certified Accountant. She resides in Stamford, CT.

Since its inception GOAL has sent 1,300 volunteers (GOALies) to work in the developing world, alongside more than 2,000 local staff and spent $503 million on the delivery of aid. It has an administration cost of less than 5% per annum for the last 30 years and pursues a policy of total transparency and accountability, publishing annual audited accounts. GOAL has its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and has offices in the UK and USA.

 

   


Since 1977, GOAL has provided $795 million in aid to the most vulnerable people worldwide on an exceptionally low administration base. GOAL USA is registered in the US as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.
