Corporate Social Responsibility
GOAL appreciates that Irish companies have put in a lot of time and effort to improve the relationship between the corporate and charity worlds and we are very fortunate to receive support from them.
We have been indebted to the fundraising efforts of Irish firms over the years, many of whom have provided professional personnel on secondment from their organisation either to work on home-based or overseas programmes.
Depending on the emergency to which we are responding, or the long-term development programmes that we are implementing, GOAL has different needs or priorities in terms of the support which we need from the business fraternity.
What is always essential, however, is that we have access to suitably qualified and experienced personnel and we encourage this as a method of CSR whenever possible. It is not only a significant money-saving measure and a meaningful way of keeping GOAL’s administration costs at exceptionally low levels, it is also important for the organisation to bring this level of expertise and entrepreneurship to programmes that may not traditionally attract such personnel.
GOAL would like to express our thanks to those companies who are currently providing personnel for a given timeframe to work with us both at home and abroad. The companies who are seconding personnel to GOAL at present are Allied Irish Bank, Ulster Bank and Smurfit.
