GOAL’s Development
Education team are all returned ‘GOALies’, i.e. volunteers
who have spent time working with GOAL in the developing world. These
GOALies have first hand knowledge and experience of GOAL’s
work in the poorest countries in the world. They can visit schools,
colleges or other education centres to share information about GOAL’s
work and also their own experiences of working in the developing
world. Each guest speaker will provide photographs and information,
answer questions and discuss general development issues.

Resources
Development Education
is about understanding the nature of the world, its peoples and
the interdependence of a global community. GOAL has in house developed
factsheets for schools. Upon request, we can
also provide photographs and other relevant information to assist
students with projects. All GOAL resources aim to increase student’s
awareness of the problems faced by their counterparts in the developing
world.

Message from John O'Shea, CEO and founder of GOAL
“If
this generation has got it wrong then it is up to the next to come
up with answers. The future of mankind hangs in the balance unless
we can find ways to share the world’s assets in a fairer way.
I sincerely hope that enough people of your generation will learn
about the plight of the poor of this world and will have the guts
and determination to do something meaningful about it. To stand
up and say “We will correct this imbalance, we will share
the world’s assets fairly among all its citizens”
