HAVING more than three decades of experience working in the developing
world, GOAL recognises that having an entrepreneurial spirit is
absolutely vital if an aid programme is going to be a success.
So we're always on the lookout for quality people, particularly
in the areas of finance and civil engineering, for our various programmes
across the developing world.
Of course, the cost of employing a person is a substantial financial
drain on GOAL, particularly in the current economic climate where
money is not as readily available as it once was.
GOAL views the secondment of personnel as a mutually beneficial
relationship and the most meaningful gift that a corporation can
give to a charity. Not only does GOAL get the benefit of that person
for a year without the usual employment cost, but when the staff
member returns to the company he or she has gained vital experience
and ingenuity not otherwise obtainable.
We appeal to corporate Ireland to consider releasing one of its
staff members to GOAL for a year.
