Sean Moncrieff’s popular afternoon show ‘Moncrieff’
on Newstalk 106 FM raised €3,400 for GOAL’s Pakistan
Earthquake Appeal by auctioning a sofa on ebay.ie. Situated in the
Newstalk 106 reception for the past three years, hundreds of well
known bums graced the sofa before being brought into studio for
an interview.
Bidding was frenzied before bids closed, as listeners battled it
out on ebay.ie and live on Newstalk 106 to be the sole owner of
this piece of rock and roll and political memorablia.
Frank Newman from Dublin’s Irish Fine Art Plasterwork, North
Strand Road, walked away with the comfortable couch after a fierce
online battle.
“I just got caught up in the moment, it looked like a nice
piece of furniture and I wanted it to be mine. I plan to put it
in my shop window to raise awareness towards this good cause,”
he explained to Newstalk 106.
