GOAL ROCKERS Bob Geldof and Bono work to help the poor thanks to the passion of a "MAD lunatic" charity boss, the Band Aid legend said. Geldof claims GOAL boss John O'Shea's Third World campaigning led him and the U2 singer to anti-poverty work.
He said: "The two of us were hugely inspired by this mad lunatic who doesn't hold his temper — or his tongue."
The former Boomtown Rats frontman hailed O'Shea by satellite during GOAL'S 30th anniversary ball in Dublin at the weekend.
He praised the agency's work in more than 50 countries and O'Shea for refusing to be silent on the injustices of poverty.
