BAGH: A meeting of the Channat Welfare Organisation was held here
under the chairmanship of Mustapha Khan here Wednesday, says a press
release.
The meeting, which was attended by a large number of people from
villages of Channat, Bhatti Sharif, Chir, Bees Bangla, Rangla, Mandri
district Bagh, reviewed and discussed the relief work being undertaken
in the quake-hit areas. The people appreciated the services of the
'GOAL', a NGO from Ireland. They specially praised GOAL's team leader
Donna Smith for great service in the area.
The people of the area, especially the children, have become really
attached to Donna Smith - so much so that they now consider her
as a member of their families. They have also requested Smith to
spend the winter season with them here, which she has agreed to
do. Simon along with other dedicated members of the team, is also
working hard for the relief of the people. The meeting was of the
view that if all other NGOs start working like GOAL, then the people
will not burden the government for their rehabilitation and will
not need to shift to relief camps and instead will prefer to stay
here.
